Microsoft announced Wednesday that it plans to roll out all of the features of the Xbox Game Pass mobile app into the standalone Xbox app in the near future, with beta testers getting a chance to try out the updated Xbox app this week.
This means Game Pass subscribers will be able to manage their membership and browse their Game Pass library in the Xbox app, and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also be able to claim their rewards within the updated app, although Ultimate subscribers will still need to use a mobile browser to play certain games through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
You’ll still have all the features of the Xbox app, including chatting with friends and remotely installing games to your device.

There’s no specific date when the Xbox app will gain Game Pass app features and become Voltron-like, but Microsoft said online that the Game Pass app will no longer be available for new downloads after November.
Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.

This marks another change for Xbox this year. Microsoft introduced the Game Pass Standard plan a few weeks ago after announcing it was discontinuing its Game Pass Console plan in July. Microsoft also announced in July that it would increase the price of Game Pass Ultimate from $17 to $20 per month.
Microsoft also announced that a slew of new games will be coming to Game Pass on the day they launch, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Gears of War: E-Day, meaning you can play them for free on the day they launch.
