Sleep is one of the daily needs of every person on earth. Unfortunately, for some reason, some people are not lucky enough to get the recommended 7 to 9 hours each night. This may be because your brain has difficulty switching off from things that make you more alert than usual, such as bright lights or using your phone before bed. Or you may be suffering from a myriad of sleep-related issues and disorders that are impacting your ability to sleep. Fall down and continue sleeping.

In my case, ever since I can remember, I have been the type of person who has trouble sleeping. It usually takes about 30 minutes or more to feel comfortable and sleepy enough to nod off. It doesn’t take long for your dog to snore, the air conditioner to turn on, or a distant stimulus to bring you back to a state of alertness. car alarm. I often wake up tired and groggy, so I decided to try different products and methods to improve my night’s sleep.
A more comfortable pillow designed for side sleepers and a high-quality weighted blanket that provides gentle, cuddly pressure across the body (helps reduce anxiety and stimulate the production of relaxation and sleep-related hormones such as serotonin and melatonin) ), there are also the following: Here are some gadgets that I’ve used and found to be very effective in ensuring quality and restful sleep.

sky view 2 lamp
Jam Kotenko/Slash Gear
We tested and reviewed the BIOS SkyView 2 lamp while sleeping at night and found very positive results. Sold as a table lamp that mimics the range of light emitted by the sun, it can be set based on geographic location to adjust light levels throughout the day. The lamp’s lighting switches from sky blue during the day to a warm amber color as the sun sets, and I personally find that my alertness declines more slowly by bedtime. I found that if I trusted my smartwatch’s sleep metrics, I was less tempted to scroll through my phone and fell asleep much faster.

What I found to be the most innovative feature of the SkyView 2 lamp was that the sunrise feature worked well to gently wake me up the next day. When I used a lamp instead of my usual cell phone alarm, I was able to gradually transition to a state of full alertness without the usual irritability or fatigue.
The only setback I encountered when trying this lamp to hack my sleep was that it was so effective that it even woke up my husband who was sleeping next to me. . If you happen to sleep alone, or if you’re lying next to someone who likes to wake up at relatively the same time as you, getting a smart lamp for your bedroom that matches your circadian rhythm is a step in the right direction. It could be a step forward. The cost of the SkyView 2 lamp has come down since our original review, but it’s still a good investment at $349 on Amazon.

hatch restaurant lamp
Another lamp that helps me sleep better at night was one I didn’t buy for myself. I first acquired a rest lamp from a company called Hatch in 2016 when I gave birth to my first son. The latest version is currently available on Amazon for $60. Baby’s continuous sleep. It also has a nifty wake-up time feature, which helps older children know when it’s time to get out of bed when the lights and sounds change.

To date, my two children, ages 5 and 10, still use the same lamp to sleep. The soundscape we have chosen for them will effectively drown out any commotion going on outside the door, such as when watching TV or hosting a friends gathering, so the sound feature will A must-have item at night. In the morning, I know it’s time to get out of bed when the rest light switches to green light (which I know means I’m leaving) along with the sound of birds chirping.
As part of their bedtime routine, we always carry Restaurant Stamps with us when we travel as a family. Since I always have to stay in the same room when I travel, I had to sleep with this lamp on in the background, and I found that I quickly fell asleep with white noise.

Trying to fall asleep while listening to a sound machine may take some getting used to for first-timers. Based on personal experience, once you get past the initial hurdle and land on some audio style that lulls you to sleep, hooray for rain and ocean sounds. Like clockwork, the desire to go limp hit me.
Levoit smart humidifier
If you’ve ever tried to sleep in an environment with dry air, you’ll find that unless you’re used to it, it’s very difficult to get comfortable and stay that way throughout the night. Apart from the fact that low humidity can dry out your skin and cause itching, it can also dry out your nose and throat passages, making it a little harder to breathe and making you more prone to snoring and nosebleeds.

When my family and I first moved from Seattle to Las Vegas, we purchased two Levoit brand humidifiers (currently on sale for $70 on Amazon) to moisturize the air in our bedrooms. As a result, I found that I could actually breathe easier at night, especially when I had a stuffy nose from a cold or just felt generally uncomfortable from the flu. It also acted as a sound machine of sorts, effectively lulling me to sleep.
Using a humidifier in dry climates or low humidity seasons generally improves your sleep quality enough, but it can be a bit of a hassle in some areas with hard water. Unfortunately, Las Vegas has one of the hardest water in the US, so I had to stop using it after a few months in order to choose another sleep aid solution.

Hard water can cause high levels of calcium to build up inside the humidifier, so the machine had to be cleaned regularly to avoid blockages and breakdowns. In addition, the calcium contained in the mist from the humidifier created a white powder on the walls and floor, which had to be cleaned regularly to prevent it from adhering to the surfaces. If you live in a city with hard water, it may be difficult to use a humidifier as a sleep tool.
Loop Experience 2 Plus Earplugs
I’ve tried all kinds of earplugs over the years and have generally found them uncomfortable and unreliable. Foam earplugs are designed to expand to fit the shape of your ear canal, but for me they don’t seem to stay on all night. I always wake up with my ears out of earshot. I was going to rule out earplugs as a sleep improvement solution until I learned about a company called Loop through targeted advertising.

In fact, I chose an early version of the Loop Experience 2 Plus earplugs, available on Amazon for $45, to wear to concerts and other live events. They were really effective for that purpose. Even though I was in the middle of a crowd of people shouting, I could clearly hear the performers. They were a lifesaver at rock shows, where decibels can reach deafening levels.
When I came up with the idea of sleeping with loop earplugs, I was pleasantly surprised by the results. They stayed safe all night, which was a victory in itself. I was able to block out small noises that would normally wake me up during the night. More importantly, most distractions no longer woke me up, but they didn’t prevent me from hearing my phone alarm in the morning.

The Loop Experience 2 Plus earplugs come with different sizes of ear tips, including foam ones, depending on your needs. There’s also a removable mute accessory available for an added layer of protection in case you want to further reduce noise. Since purchasing the first pair, I have bought a second one for sleeping only, one for my husband who is very sensitive to loud noises, and one for my kids to use on planes and at loud events outside. I bought it.
