Verizon has re-released its family tracking app with Safe Walk SOS feature. This allows users to share their real-time location with emergency contacts and send notifications when they arrive safely. Users also have access to a silent SOS button that alerts their contacts if they need help.
The new Verizon Family app replaces the Smart Family service the company launched in 2019. It has many of the same features, including ways to track your family’s location, see how much time your kids are spending on their phones, and configure settings. Screen time limits.
The Verizon Family app lets parents see their kids’ call and text activity (without actually displaying the messages), monitor their teens’ driving activity, set location alerts, and more. You can also. iPhone and Android devices already have some of these features built-in, such as a way to send SOS messages to emergency contacts and various parental controls.
Family apps are available at no additional charge with a standard postpaid monthly account, but if you want access to additional features, you’ll have to pay $14.99 per month per account. This includes multiple location alerts, parental controls to manage screen time, and the ability to set up roadside assistance.
Customers with the old Verizon Smart Family service, which starts at $4.99 per month, can continue to use it (Verizon won’t allow new users to sign up). The improved Verizon Family service works with the company’s other family tracking products, including Gizmo Watch 3 Adventure.
