Roku on Tuesday announced details of the latest product upgrades to its top-of-the-line “Ultra” streaming device.
The updated device comes with a new quad-core processor built specifically for improved streaming quality and brings 4K, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos capabilities, as well as support for WiFi 6.

Roku says its new Ultra runs 30% faster than other players.
The company says the device is even faster with the integration of machine learning, which predicts the next app you’re likely to open and has it ready to launch instantly.
Other features include Lost Remote mode, wireless headphone functionality, and customizable quick launch shortcuts.
Speaking of remotes, Roku introduced a second version of its Voice Remote Pro last spring, which comes bundled with the Roku Ultra.
In addition to the standard features, the Voice Remote Pro has backlit buttons, USB charging, and two new buttons: Quick Launch and Live TV Guide.
Roku also highlighted some significant changes to its content recommendations and homepage as part of a broader product upgrade cycle.
In a release, Roku announced that it is revamping its Roku mobile app, which previously allowed users to control their TVs without needing a physical remote.
Now, in addition to controlling the video player, you’ll be able to use the Remote app to find personalized content recommendations and read IMDb ratings without launching a new window.
The app allows users to favorite their favorite sports teams even when they’re away from home.
Roku has also made some slight changes to its home screen, introducing a “Kids & Family Zone.”
But if that’s not to your liking, the company has also introduced the ability to “like” or “dislike” content, giving users some control over what the platform continues to recommend to them.
