The National Data Management Authority (NDMA) is currently working on an initiative aimed at strengthening the protection of government data and systems, and in line with this initiative, it has released critical cybersecurity services for public sector employees in Region 6. Hosted training sessions.
According to a statement from the NDMA, the meeting was attended by representatives of several public authorities including the Guyana Police Force, the Guyana Prisons, the Guyana Revenue Authority and the High Court. This provided me with knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and practical skills to detect and respond to cyber threats. Additionally, participants gained valuable insights into protecting sensitive information, identifying potential risks, and taking decisive action to strengthen the cybersecurity posture within their respective organizations. They were also introduced to techniques for recognizing potential threats such as phishing attempts and malware infections, and were instructed on appropriate measures to mitigate these risks.
