When metas test new content, AI-generated images of themselves now appear in their Facebook or Instagram feeds.
Mehta told Axios on Friday that users can opt out of the new “Imagined for You” test, which creates AI content based on your interests and also incorporates your likeness. For example, users can imagine themselves as royalty or astronauts in a new setting and share their meta-AI-generated images with the network.
You can “be the protagonist of your own story,” Mehta said.
The Verge noted that the images generated appear to rely on photos uploaded by users.

Meta is also testing adding other AI images to News Feed that don’t show the user’s face but are personalized to the user. One example image shared by Mehta shows an enchanting area illuminated by moonlight.
Meta is experimenting with changes across Facebook and Instagram. This new feature is in testing and the number of affected accounts is unknown.
