David Lim, co-founder of Malaysian boutique law firm D&P Law Group, has left the firm to set up a new firm focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups in the country.
Mori Law Firm aims to make quality legal services more accessible to small and medium-sized businesses that are underserved by traditional law firms.
The launch comes at a time when Malaysia’s startup ecosystem is experiencing rapid growth amid the Malaysian government’s push to digitise and promote innovation in the business sector.
The company will also specialize in consulting for renewable energy projects, particularly in the solar power sector.
Lim, who founded D&P Law Group with Sean Polian in 2020, has experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate commercial transactions in industries including renewable energy, aviation and healthcare.
“We want to democratize access to top-class legal services and ensure clients of all sizes can receive excellent advice,” Lim said in a statement, highlighting the firm’s focus on providing innovative legal solutions tailored to the dynamic needs of Malaysian SMEs and start-ups.
Prior to joining D&P, he held positions at established law firms such as Rahmat Lim & Partners and ZICO Law.
D&P currently has two partners: Paulian and corporate specialist Shamimi Saberi.
