In his inaugural address on Sunday, resident Prabowo Subianto stressed that despite Indonesia being a member of the Group of 20 (G20), poverty remains widespread in the country. He identified the lack of decent employment as the main factor contributing to Indonesia’s poverty levels.
Like other important economic factors, youth and women’s entrepreneurship forms the backbone of future employment and therefore plays a key role in driving Indonesia’s economic growth.
Unfortunately, the recent United Nations World Youth Report highlights that NEET (not in education, employment or training) rates among the world’s young people remain a concern, with traditional approaches to entrepreneurship and employment.
