The Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center (TLTC) is pleased to announce the launch of a new podcast series, “Innovate and Educate,” hosted by TLTC Instructional Designer Kate Sierra and produced by TLTC Fellow, Digital Media Specialist Michael Pisciotta.
This dynamic podcast explores how technology is transforming education and enhancing student success in higher education. Concise 20-minute episodes address key issues in education technology and provide practical insights, real-life examples, and expert perspectives that can be easily implemented in your classroom, department, or across your institution.
“Seton Hall faculty repeatedly told us how they are using technology to foster creativity and real-world skills, and shared updates on how it has impacted student outcomes and engagement,” explains Kate Sierra. “Faculty have collaborated with TLTC on the Faculty Innovation Grant Showcase and other workshops, but this podcast was created to give faculty an opportunity to share those ideas with others on campus, within their disciplines, and beyond.”
The first episode, “What EdTech Has Effectively Transformed Student Outcomes in Your Course?” features two Seton Hall instructors who share their experiences using innovative educational technology. Listeners will hear success stories from across the Seton Hall campus and see that EdTech can take many forms and be effective for instructors at any stage of technology integration. Future episodes will feature other faculty who have integrated technology into their courses, including virtual reality, WordPress blogs, and “student voice and choice” assignments.
With new episodes released the last Thursday of each month, “Innovate and Educate” is the go-to resource for educators who want to integrate technology in ways that will have a lasting impact on student learning. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to take your technology use to the next level, this podcast offers actionable strategies to inspire and improve educational outcomes.
“Our faculty are doing so many creative things in their classes,” said Renee Cicchino, director of instructional technology, “and we’re excited to share these innovations and best practices with the university community and beyond.”
