Guided is an app born out of the University of Utah’s MBC program. Founded in June 2023, Guided leverages AI as a tool for meditation and mindfulness. From personalized meditations to AI-generated bedtime stories, Guided offers users a unique experience.
The app is also available with a free trial, with Guided founder and CEO Connor Chase explaining:

“While most apps like Calm and Headspace offer a limited-time free trial, we know it takes time to experience the true benefits of AI-powered meditation, so instead we’re offering seven free meditations that users can access at any time.”
After the free trial, users can subscribe to Guided for $70 per year or $6 per month. Beyond personalized meditations, Guided offers a suite of features that users can enjoy even after the free trial ends, including AI-generated Sleep Tales, a calming timer, colored noise, and a library of music tailored specifically for soothing meditations.
Guided’s AI-generated meditations are designed to support users who are having a difficult day, feeling lonely, or simply want to relax. Guided’s customized sessions offer users moments of peace and reflection.
Guided’s app also features “Sleep Tales,” fantasy stories generated and narrated by AI to help users drift off to a peaceful slumber, while a timer feature allows users to set their desired meditation time with relaxing visuals and soothing sounds to create the perfect mindfulness environment.
Music plays a vital role in Guided’s user experience: The app’s soundscapes are created by co-founder and marketing chief Cole Thomas, known in the music world as Philip Sombor, whose songs have more than 60 million plays on Spotify and Apple Music. “Cole is taking our sound design to the level we’ve come to expect from Disney Pixar,” Chase says.

The third key team member at Guided is CTO Adam Schreck, who manages the app’s technical development and ensures a smooth and innovative user experience.

Guided attracts users organically through high-demand keywords like “AI” and “meditation.” Though the app has yet to fully execute its marketing strategy, Chase hinted at big moves on the horizon, highlighting the company’s plans to increase its market presence in the near future.
Guided is actively exploring strategic partnerships that align with its mission, including discussions with notable brands in the wellness and technology sectors. Chase’s own background adds depth to these potential collaborations. With a background in design and UX, two successful apps, and now overseeing a $2 million Sleep Number store, Chase is applying his knowledge and experience to help grow Guided.
