Launch of a six-pillar common framework for digital transformation of education

In support of the Global Digital Compact, this session will bring together leaders from UNESCO, UNICEF, GPE, ITU, Ministries of Education and partners to unveil a six-pillar common framework for digital transformation in education. It will advocate for systems-driven, sustainable and people-centred strategies that use technology to improve education. The session will call for aligning efforts around country-led goals, addressing skills gaps and facilitating partnerships to develop AI and digital competencies for lifelong learners. The discussion will seek to promote a holistic approach to digital transformation in education and support governments in leveraging technology to improve quality and equity in education systems.
Interactive Session on Technology for Quality Education

Following a short presentation of findings from the World Education Monitoring Report and Edition 2023, the session will discuss the role of educational technology in accelerating education transformation in low-income and lower-middle-income countries. This interactive workshop will present a fictional country case study and use a six-pillar framework to explore systemic barriers and facilitators to leveraging technology to advance SDG 4 on quality education for all.
