(PUEBLO, CO) — CSU Pueblo students explored career opportunities in the cybersecurity field at the Cybersecurity Career Summit held on Wednesday, September 25th.
Top leaders from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) spoke to students and faculty about what it means to work in cybersecurity and what it has to offer.
With a focus on career connections and societal impact, the summit offered students the opportunity to speak with members during a career fair and then dive deeper into their areas of interest during breakout sessions.

“I want students to understand that we can do anything,” said Tanisha Robinson, a senior at California State University, Pueblo.
For some students, simply seeing others having success in the cybersecurity field can make a big difference.
“To me, this is huge. I never saw someone who looked like me doing what we do, and I never saw the opportunity for someone who looked like me to do what our students are doing now,” said Denizio Lavoie, CSU Pueblo’s vice president of education. “So this is very personal. And I love the fact that I’m in a position to give back and support and teach and try to educate the younger generation.”
The next career fair at CSU Pueblo will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9, where students can learn more about internships and other career paths.
