Kind Snacks founder Daniel Lubetzky, who has a personal net worth of $2.3 billion, admits that his morning routine used to be exhausting.
“I once had a terrible habit,” he said in an interview with Entrepreneur.
Lubetzky founded Kind Snax in 2004 and sold it for $5 billion in 2020. He is currently the founder and chairman of Camino Partners, a $350 million fund he launched in January 2023, and is a regular on ABC’s “Shark Tank.”
Lubetzky revealed that he went to bed at 2 a.m. for years because he wanted to completely empty his inbox. Instead of sleeping, he spent hours checking and replying to emails. The next morning, he needed an extra 30 minutes of sleep, so he missed his scheduled workout.

“I had terrible exercise and sleep habits,” Lubetzky said.
Over the past two months, the 56-year-old entrepreneur has intentionally changed her bedtime and morning routine.
“I got over it,” he said. “I’m not going to go to sleep and wake up at the same time. It changed my life.”
Lubetzky now has a new habit of falling asleep around midnight and waking up by 7:30 or 8 a.m. His morning routine involves stretching, which he says is “a lot of fun.”

Mr. Lubetzky also shared important tips for increasing productivity. “When you’re working on a task, complete it.”
“Don’t leave things half-baked, then you have to start from scratch,” he said. “You’re so unproductive.”
He recommended thinking of attention as a point. Every time you read an email, a virtual dot is placed on the email. The goal is to minimize the number of points, or notes, that are directed to you via email or document, so that you don’t have to revisit the same issues over and over again.
