“Strengthening our culture remains a top priority” and that he is “constantly thinking about it,” Jassy said in the memo.
“Teams tend to connect better with each other,” Jassy added.
However, Blind’s research found that the new RTO policy was counterproductive. The majority of Amazon’s corporate employees reported not wanting to return to the office five days a week, and about 80% already knew people looking for other jobs.
“I’ve lost all motivation for this job. I’m totally going to check out, down to PIP,” an Amazon expert wrote to Blind.

According to the report, Amazon recruiters also spoke anonymously and said candidates are declining job interviews in response to the new mandate.
“RTO’s blanket policy is crazy, especially for those of us who were employed in remote areas far away from the office. We have children and families here, so we have no intention of relocating,” said an Amazonian who identified himself as a parent. the expert said. “Even if you don’t, the risk of being made redundant within six months is too great anyway, so why take the risk of moving?”
Amazon has not yet commented on the blind report. The survey was conducted from September 17th to 19th, 2024 among verified employees in the United States.
