ARLINGTON, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Accenture Federal Services has been awarded a $90 million prime contract to provide data analytics and vulnerability research and analysis support to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) as part of its efforts to proactively strengthen the cybersecurity posture of its partners.
CISA’s mission is to lead the national effort to protect and strengthen the resilience of the nation’s physical and cyber infrastructure. Leveraging private sector best practices, Accenture Federal Services supports the agency’s Cyber Security Division’s (CSD) Vulnerability Management (VM) Insights division by providing agency partners and stakeholders with timely, actionable guidance on risk mitigation strategies.
“Accenture Federal Services values our collaboration with CISA to help senior executives in departments, agencies and the private sector across the U.S. understand the likelihood and impact of a potentially harmful breach and their role in mitigating that impact,” said Ron Ash, CEO of Accenture Federal Services. “This is important work to help agencies and their partners protect the nation’s critical infrastructure and strengthen overall cyber resilience.”
CISA’s VM Insights division plays a key role in CISA’s implementation of the Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act of 2022 (CIRCIA), a key milestone in improving U.S. cybersecurity by requiring covered organizations to report covered cyber incidents and ransomware payments, allowing agencies to quickly spot trends and share information with network defenders.
“CISA plays a critical role in helping to reduce cyber risk, strengthen the resilience of critical infrastructure and reduce the exposure of the attack surface to increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks,” said Paloma Purtzok, managing director and CISA client account lead for Accenture’s Federal Services practice. “Our team looks forward to leveraging our global expertise to deliver innovative analytics products and solutions that help deliver on the VM mission.”
The CISA CSD VM Insights contract has a one-year base term with an option for four years.
In 2021, Accenture Federal Services was awarded a $112 million major task order from CISA to protect federal civilian executive branch systems from cyberattacks.
Earlier this year, Accenture Federal Services and Google Public Sector expanded their strategic alliance to launch a Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (COE) that will bring Mandiant threat intelligence to Accenture Federal Services’ cyber solutions.
