8 Best Sleep Gadgets to Help You Fall to Sleep Faster in 2024
No matter what type of sleeper you are, whether you sleep on your back, sleep on your side, snore loudly, or toss and turn all the time, you’ll probably understand why this is the case. The list includes things that may improve your night nap. Get the rest you deserve with 8 of the best sleep gadgets and sleep technology products on the market in 2024, including winners from the latest Men’s Health Sleep Awards.
Things to consider
There are thousands of gadgets on the market, all of which promise to help you get a better rest. But with so many options, it can be difficult to decide which one is right for you. There are some important points to consider.
Wearability
To wear it or not to wear it…that’s the decision you need to make when purchasing the right sleep gear. Of course, there is no one right answer, as this is completely personal and depends on how you like to sleep. Wearable options include sleep tracking rings and sleep-centric earbuds. Non-wearable options include smart alarm clocks, specialized pillows (for cooling, relieving back and neck pain, and treating conditions such as TMJ), and sleep tracking designed to fit over or under a mattress. There are mats etc. The options are almost endless.
size
Many of the best sleep products are compact and portable, so they won’t take up much space and will blend into your current bedroom setup. These include sleep tracking watches, unique alarm clocks (like the Hatch Restore 2), and specialized pillows to replace your existing one. However, if you’re purchasing something larger, like a BedJet air conditioning system or an extra-large body pillow, you may want to consider how much (or not) you have in your bedroom. Some of these options require a lot of space, which can be a problem for people who live in apartments or don’t have a lot of square footage to spare.
price
As with any health-related product, the price of sleep-enhancing gadgets can vary widely. You can buy a decent set of earplugs for a few cents, but ultra-luxury, state-of-the-art mattress systems (like the Eight Sleep Pod 4 cover) can cost upwards of $2,000. Bottom line: You can spend a little money on high-tech gadgets that promise you a better night’s sleep. If you’re worried about your budget, you don’t have to be.

Hatch Restore 2 Sunrise Alarm Clock
15% off now
Credit: Retailer Offer Cons A little expensive for an alarm clock
We love Hatch’s OG Restore sleep machine, and the next-generation Hatch Restore 2 is no exception (which is why it made the shortlist for best sleep gadget at last year’s Men’s Health Sleep Awards). It’s an all-in-one bedside sleep guru packed with really useful features. Besides being an alarm clock and sleep sound machine, its orange light is more than just for show. The light from your device mimics a sunrise, helping you wake up naturally and more energized.
After testing the Restore 2 for over three months, I personally love everything about this device. Ambient noise, especially nature sounds and the production of pink and brown noise, made a big difference on nap days. We also appreciate the gentle wake up and down design of both the display and the alarm sound. This is a nice change from the unpleasant designs of most other alarm clocks.
What’s more, all these features are wrapped in a handsome, retro-modern design that fits into any interior. It’s clean and minimalistic, with just a touch of warmth (especially in the Putty colorway pictured). This is a welcome departure from most typical high-tech sleep gadgets we’ve tested this year. Rather than littering the case with buttons, switches, and complicated displays (like most traditional alarm clocks), Hatch wisely moves most controls into a dedicated mobile app that lets you customize everything. I got it under control.
Our only real complaint is the price. It’s not terribly expensive, but it’s also not exactly cheap, especially considering there are smart alarm clock apps for smartphones that offer many of the same features.

vest weighted blanket
Bearaby Tree Naper Weighted Blanket
10% off now

If you haven’t experienced the joy of sleeping on a weighted blanket, let me tell you it’s real. There is no better value for money option than Bearaby’s Tree Napper. Unlike most common weighted blankets that use weighted glass beads (which can shift, slip, or leak over time), they’re made with premium weighted Tencel fibers. They are soft, plant-based, and help distribute the blanket’s weight much better than competing products. The same woven design also makes for a more handsome and flattering blanket, perfect for leaving draped over the back of your sofa or at the foot of your bed. Plus, because it’s more “open,” it won’t overheat like other blankets, making it a great option for hot sleepers or general year-round use.

best sleep earphones

A good pair of earphones is almost always the best solution for blocking out unwanted ambient noise at night, such as traffic, neighbors who party hard, or a partner who snores. Soundcore (a sub-brand of Anker)’s sleep-centric earbuds feature a passive noise-canceling design that can be used on or off. When switched on, it’s perfect for streaming podcasts or listening to nature sounds in bed. The soft, flexible ear tips are extremely comfortable even after hours of wear, and several sizes are included to help you find the perfect fit. With its compact design and protective charging case, it’s also a great solution for long-distance travelers who don’t want to carry around an alarm clock.

best wearable sleep tracker
Oura Ring Gen3 Horizon
Credit: Retailer Offers Cons Expensive compared to most other sleep trackers Requires monthly subscription to access advanced features
In our experience, many sleep trackers, even the best sleep trackers, are not very accurate. Oura’s latest Gen3 Horizon sleep tracking ring is a welcome exception. After months of testing, we’ve confirmed that thanks to three hospital-grade sensors, it monitors your sleep patterns with incredible accuracy and lets you know what’s working and what’s not. Ta. The design of this flagship ring is also sleek and discreet, so it’s not only handsome enough to wear on a daily basis, but also easy to forget you’re wearing (if you don’t like the idea of wearable technology, it’s too noisy) A plus for those who sleep) they doze off). It’s more expensive than most wearable alternatives we’ve tested. But if it actually works, it’s worth it, right?

best bedroom smart speakers
Amazon Echo (4th generation)
Credit: Provided by Retailer Cons Always-on microphone raises privacy concerns May be more accurate in responding to voice commands
If you want to limit the amount of technology you can have in your bedroom (including screens and other bright displays), a no-frills, screen-free smart speaker like Amazon’s Echo is a great option. Like its predecessor, the latest generation ditches the alarm clock-style screen in favor of voice commands. The hands-free user interface makes your time in the bedroom more stress-free. Just tell Alexa what you want and she’ll do it for you. Set or cancel alarms, play podcasts, listen to audiobooks, relax with the sounds of nature, and eliminate the whims of late-night insomnia with voice search. But the best thing about this sleep product is its price. The feature-to-value ratio is higher than most other products we’ve tested this year.

best sound machine
LectroFan EVO Non-Loop Sleep Sound Machine
Credit: Courtesy of retailer
In a sea of smart, sometimes expensive, app-connected sleep gadgets, the LectroFan EVO stands out for what it is: There are no screens, no mobile apps, and no complicated setup process. There are no unnecessarily complicated features. This is a very simple sound machine with 22 unique fan sounds, ocean sounds, and white noise variations, enough background noise to make your next night’s sleep interesting. The company guarantees that all sounds are non-repetitive. This feature may seem trivial, but it’s one that can wake up sensitive sleepers. All are packaged in the same simple black plastic box, designed to blend in with your bedroom decor. The best part? This is one of the cheapest sleeping devices worth buying right now.

Eight Sleep Pod 4 Cover + Hub
6% off now

You don’t have to spend a fortune on high-tech gadgets to get a better night’s sleep. However, if you have the means and only use the best, it doesn’t get any better than Eight Sleep’s Pod 4. It’s a comprehensive high-tech sleep system (combination of smart cover and internet connectivity hub) that fits all purposes. Not only can it replace your existing mattress, but it can also replace almost any other gadget you have in your bedroom. Track your sleep habits and provide detailed feedback. But it can also automatically adjust the temperature, reduce snoring, and trigger vibration and heat alarms. You’ll be paying a pretty penny for this perk, but our team can attest that this sleep device does everything it promises. Our biggest complaint is the ongoing subscription fees, which can quickly add up to hundreds of dollars per year.

The most unique pillow for side sleepers
pillow cube side cube
Credit: Courtesy of retailer
We wouldn’t call most regular pillows “sleep products,” but PillowCube’s side cubes are no ordinary pillow. The unique angular shape does not seem comfortable. But this is a game-changer for side sleepers. I’m a combo sleeper (mostly on my side, sometimes on my back) and I spend all night on this pillow, and it’s the real deal. It’s shaped just right to support the gap between my neck and shoulders, which has helped relieve chronic back and neck pain. The price is also very affordable, but hot side sleepers who want to splurge can upgrade to the brand’s Ice Cube. With a side cube pillow wrapped in a cool cover, you don’t have to constantly chase your “cool side” all night long.
